The Federal Government has received 103 Nigerians deported from Turkey due to expired visas and other migration issues.
Alhaji Tijani Ahmed, the Federal Commissioner of the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants, and Internally Displaced Persons, shared this during the profiling of the returnees in Abuja on Friday.
Ambassador Catherine Udida, representing the Director of Migration Affairs, mentioned that although 110 deportees were anticipated, only 103 arrived, all male.
Some of the deportees had been held in camps for several months. Concerns were raised about confiscated passports, and Udida stated that efforts would be made to address these issues with Turkish authorities, as the passports belong to Nigeria.
