Sophia Momodu, Davido’s first baby mama, has reportedly submitted a counter affidavit consisting of 102 paragraphs to challenge his request for joint custody of their daughter, Imade.
This legal action comes after Davido filed for joint custody, accusing Sophia of preventing him from seeing Imade and making financial demands.
Davido stated that his relationship with Sophia ended years ago, and they had agreed to co-parent Imade. However, he alleged that Sophia did not fulfill their agreement, rejecting his offer of accommodation and requesting a monthly payment of N5 million, among other requests.
In response, Sophia denied the accusations of denying Davido access to Imade. She claimed that she was in a relationship with Davido from 2020 to 2022, while he was dating Chioma, who is now his wife. Sophia asserted that Davido distanced himself from Imade after she declined his advances and never attempted to visit her.
Recent reports indicate that Sophia’s legal team, led by Dr. Anthony Idigbe SAN of Punuka Attorneys and Dr. Bimpe Ajegbomogun, has filed the 102-paragraph affidavit to contest Davido’s custody application.
The next court hearing for the estranged couple is scheduled for Friday, July 5, 2024.
