Henry Musa, a hotel security man accused of absconding with a vehicle entrusted to him in Awka, Anambra State, has been apprehended by operatives of the Niger State police.
SP Wasiu Abiodun, spokesperson for the command, announced the arrest in a statement over the weekend. Musa was caught by police attached to Sabon-Wuse Division. During questioning, he admitted his intention to sell the vehicle in Dikko.
The statement read: “On 02/7/2024 at about 0830hrs, based on information received, Police operatives attached to Sabon-Wuse Div arrested one Henry Musa 34yrs of Awka, Anambra State with a Toyota Camry vehicle bearing Reg. No. LND 851 CJ suspected to have been stolen.
“The suspect was seen at Dikko, along Abuja-Kaduna Expressway in Tafa area of Niger State with duplicate copies of the document to sell the vehicle.
“The Police operatives of the Division were quickly mobilised to the area and the suspect was taken into custody with the vehicle.
“During interrogation, he confessed that he was a security man in a hotel at Awka and that the key of the vehicle was entrusted to him by the owner, while he decided to take the vehicle away, and was taken to Dikko in order to dispose of it.
“However, the suspect is under investigation and he will be transferred to SCID for further investigation and prosecution immediately after the investigations.”
