A serving police inspector, Hussaini Umar, attached to the Force Intelligence Bureau (FIB), was fatally stabbed by suspected members of a ‘one chance’ gang in Abuja on Friday night.
Umar boarded the gang’s vehicle at Maitama Junction and was heading home to Dei-Dei when the attack occurred. The robbers reportedly dumped his body near the NNPC Junction in Kubwa, where he was subsequently hit by another vehicle.
The police recovered Umar’s body on Saturday morning and transported it to his hometown of Zaria for burial. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
