Tinubu Appoints Alli-Macaulay as NSITF Executive Director Amid Controversy Over Palliatives

President Bola Tinubu appointed Mrs. Mojisolaoluwa Kehinde Alli-Macaulay, a former Lagos lawmaker, as the Executive Director (Operations) of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF).

Alli-Macaulay faced criticism previously for keeping COVID-19 relief materials intended for residents and later using them as party favors at her birthday event.

The incident involved diverting the palliatives meant for her constituents and repackaging them as birthday party packs, which became widely known through viral photographs after the event.

Tinubu also appointed Mr. Oluwaseun Faleye as the new Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of NSITF. Faleye is known for his expertise in legal and corporate finance.

According to a statement by Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu expects these appointments to lead to a thorough reorganization of NSITF, aiming for better social protection and service delivery for Nigerians.

“The President anticipates a comprehensive re-positioning of the NSITF for enhanced social protection and qualitative service delivery to the Nigerian people,” his statement said.
