Bandits Terrorize Dan Isa, Kill Four, Abduct Over 150

A devastating attack on Dan Isa village in Kaura Namoda Local Government Area, Zamfara State, has left four people dead and over 150 abducted, including two infants aged six and eight months.

The incident occurred on Sunday, July 14, when a large bandit group, estimated to be over 150, stormed the village around 3 pm. A resident, whose wife and son were among the victims, described the six-hour ordeal, during which the bandits indiscriminately opened fire, forcing residents to flee.

Among the abducted were the wife and six-month-old child of one resident, as well as his brother’s wife and eight-month-old child. Additionally, Hajiya Rakiya, wife of Wamban Dan Isa, and two of his brother’s wives were taken captive.

Another resident, Muhammad Auwal, reported injuries among women at Wamban Dan Isa’s house. Malam Musa Ajiya also escaped the attack but lost his wife and his brother’s wife to the bandits.

The attack has been linked to a notorious bandit, Alhaji Shehu Bagiwa, although he was reportedly not present during the raid. Eyewitnesses identified Aminu Baka-da-dadi as the leader of the operation.
