A 35-year-old British woman is in custody after being accused of attempting to sexually assault a 20-year-old compatriot in a bar toilet on the Greek island of Rhodes, according to Dailymail.
The incident occurred around 1:30 AM on July 14th in the town of Ialysos. The younger woman reported to local police that the older woman followed her into the restroom and subsequently tried to force herself on her.
The suspect voluntarily presented herself at the Ialysos police station accompanied by her partner. While denying the allegations and offering a different account of events, the suspect provided a DNA sample for analysis. Additionally, the victim submitted her underwear as evidence, which will undergo forensic examination.
The Greek Forensic Investigations Division will process both the DNA sample and the victim’s underwear. Authorities anticipate the results within the coming days, which will inform subsequent legal proceedings.
