Donald Trump received thunderous applause upon entering the Republican National Committee Convention on Monday night, July 15, following a recent assassination attempt.
Flanked by security and sporting a bandage on his right ear, the former US President made his first public appearance since the harrowing attack.
Trump had narrowly escaped harm when shots were fired at him on Saturday night, July 13, during a speech in Butler, Pennsylvania. Just days later, amidst chants of “fight, fight, fight,” he entered the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee to Lee Greenwood’s live rendition of “God Bless the USA.”

Surrounded by his children Don Jr., Eric, and Tiffany, along with VP pick Ohio Senator JD Vance and Speaker of the House Mike Johnson, Trump, named the Republican presidential nominee earlier that day, took his seat to a spirited reception.
The announcement of Vance as his running mate had coincided with Trump’s update on Truth Social. Despite the recent threat to his life, Trump is scheduled to deliver a speech on Thursday, July 18.
