Marcus Rashford Banned from Driving and Fined ₦924,668 for Speeding

Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford has been banned from driving for six months and fined £1,666 (N924,668 ) after admitting to speeding on the M60 in Manchester last December in his Rolls-Royce.

According to HM Courts and Tribunals Service, he must also pay £120 (N66,782) court costs and a £66 (N36,787) surcharge.

Rashford, 26, was caught exceeding the 70mph speed limit, though the exact speed wasn’t disclosed in court records. He appeared before Manchester and Salford Magistrates’ Court via videolink under the Single Justice Procedure.

This incident follows a challenging season for Rashford, where he scored just eight times for Manchester United in all competitions and was not selected for Gareth Southgate’s Euro 2024 squad.

In 2021, Rashford was awarded an MBE for his charity work but recently announced a break from social media to “rest and reset” after acknowledging mental strain from the season.

This speeding offense occurred three months after Rashford escaped unhurt from a car crash in September last year involving one of his luxury cars, a Rolls-Royce valued at £700,000 (N389,378,800).
