Road Rage Turns Deadly: Man Shot After Confronting Driver with Gun

A road rage incident in Indianapolis, Indiana, United States, escalated into a fatal shooting on Tuesday evening.

The altercation, captured on video by a bystander, shows a man identified as Gavin Dasaur, 29, approaching a white Chevy pickup truck and attempting to strike the driver while holding a handgun.

The video depicts a struggle as the driver deflects the punch and Dasaur shifts the weapon. He appears to berate the driver while repeatedly pointing the gun.

The situation intensifies as the pickup truck driver draws their own firearm and fires multiple shots, causing Dasaur to fall to the ground. The harrowing seven-second video ends with the witness taking cover in their car.

According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, the shooting occurred around 8:15 p.m. near the intersection of South Emerson Avenue and Thompson Road.

Witness reports suggest the incident stemmed from road rage between Dasaur, driving a black Honda, and the pickup truck driver.

Investigators determined the pickup driver may have acted in self-defense and released them after initial questioning. Cinthya ZaMora, Dasaur’s wife, expressed grief and condemned the shooting.

The wife told the local outlet: “He was a hardworking man that always went out of his way to help anyone and wanted to give the world to me and his family.”
