Kevin De Bruyne’s potential move to Saudi Arabia has hit a snag, according to talkSPORT.
Earlier reports suggested the Manchester City playmaker had agreed personal terms with Al Ittihad, but it seems a switch to the Middle East isn’t imminent.
While Saudi clubs are clearly interested in De Bruyne, Manchester City is holding firm, demanding a staggering £100 million for their midfield maestro.
Further complicating matters, De Bruyne himself might favor a move to Al Hilal over Al Ittihad if he does decide to leave the Etihad Stadium. Al Hilal will be the representatives of Saudi Arabia at the Club World Cup in 2025, which could be a more enticing prospect for the Belgian star.
This transfer saga is far from over. De Bruyne is entering the final year of his contract with City, and Saudi clubs might be willing to wait until next summer to acquire him on a free transfer. This puts pressure on Manchester City to either sell him now for a significant fee or risk losing him for nothing in a year’s time.
