A Point-of-Sale (POS) operator, identified as Chilaka, was fatally shot by gunmen suspected to be armed robbers in Aba, Abia State.
The incident occurred at Umuojima Junction in Osisioma Ngwa Local Government Area. According to reports, Chilaka was returning home after closing his shop when he was ambushed. The gunmen shot him, stole his N3 million daily earnings, and left him critically injured.
Chilaka was rushed to a nearby private hospital but later transferred to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Umuahia. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries.
The insecurity in Nigeria is a major concern.
