Bayelsa Businessman Murdered in Robbery

A businessman, Cletus Alake, was tragically killed on Monday, July 22nd, 2024, in an apparent robbery at his office opposite Ekeki Motor Park, Yenagoa.

Authorities suspect armed assailants trailed Mr. Alake before fatally stabbing him. The perpetrators stole an undisclosed amount of cash, his phone, and a Highlander jeep parked near the office.

Mr. Alake’s employees discovered his body upon arriving for work. Described as a quiet businessman in his late 40s, he reportedly owned other businesses in Yenagoa.

The Bayelsa State Police Command’s spokesperson, ASP Musa Mohammed, confirmed they are investigating this crime.
