Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force in Kaduna have foiled the kidnapping of a professional footballer and automobile businessman, Mohammed Goni Jidda.
The incident occurred on Sunday, July 23, 2024, when the victim was abducted from a hotel in Kano by a five-man gang. The kidnappers were intercepted by vigilant police officers from the Sabin Gari Division in Zaria while attempting to flee to Abuja.
Suspicious behavior by the occupants of the vehicle prompted the police to intervene, leading to the safe rescue of the victim and the arrest of one suspect, identified as Alfaki Abdullahi.
According to the police spokesperson, ASP Masir Hassan, preliminary investigations revealed that the kidnapping was planned in Maiduguri. The victim, a resident of Abuja, was in Kano for business when he was targeted.
