A heavily pregnant woman has tragically died following a violent altercation with a neighbor in Ugep town, Yakurr Local Government Area of Cross River State.
The incident began when the woman’s child was involved in a dispute with a neighbor’s child, which escalated into a physical confrontation between the two mothers. The pregnant woman, who was engaged in the fight, lost her life as a result.
Journalist Agba Jalingo confirmed the details of the incident in a Facebook post on Friday, July 26, 2024. He reported: ““The deceased woman’s child was said to have picked a fight with a neighbour’s child, which later degenerated into a fisticuffs between the deceased and her neighbor. The deceased who was heavily pregnant lost her life in the process.”
It remains unclear whether the police have intervened or if any arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
