A 40-year-old man identified as Kirill Gryaznov has been arrested in Paris on suspicion of being a Russian spy plotting to disrupt the 2024 Olympic Games.
The alleged agent, with a surprising dual identity as a trained chef who attended the prestigious Le Cordon Bleu and appeared on a reality cooking show, was detained following months of surveillance by European intelligence agencies.

Gryaznov’s arrest came after a series of events that raised red flags. He was removed from a flight to Paris for intoxication and subsequently made boasts about his connections to the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) to friends and neighbors. The suspect allegedly bragged about orchestrating a spectacular opening ceremony for the Olympics, a far cry from the actual event.

French authorities raided Gryaznov’s apartment and discovered evidence linking him to a “large-scale project” aimed at destabilizing France during the Games. He has been charged with intelligence activities on behalf of a foreign power.
