Massive Fire Destroys Billions Worth of Goods at Lagos Trade Fair

A devastating fire broke out at the Trade Fair Complex in Lagos State on Sunday, August 11, 2024, destroying goods worth billions of Naira.

The blaze engulfed an entire warehouse, affecting six assembly lines and a range of equipment and household items, including TVs, refrigerators, and air conditioners.

According to the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), the inferno led to the loss of goods estimated to be worth hundreds of billions of Naira.

Emergency response teams, including LASEMA Elife Fire Unit, Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Federal Fire Service, NEMA, Nigerian Army, Nigeria Police Force, and Lagos State Ambulance Services (LASAMBUS), worked together to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to nearby buildings and facilities.

The immediate cause of the fire remains undetermined, but fortunately, no casualties were reported.
