Peter Okoye, also known as Mr P from the now-defunct P-Square group, has responded to accusations from his twin brother, Paul Okoye (Rude Boy), who claimed that Peter reported him to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
In his response, Peter denied ever petitioning the EFCC against his brother. He explained the situation as follows:
Peter detailed that he, Paul, and their older brother Jude Okoye co-own a management company called Northside Entertainment, which handles all P-Square affairs.
He discovered another company with a similar name, Northside Music, and upon investigation, found that the founder and director of this company were his elder brother Jude Okoye and Jude’s wife, Ifeoma Okoye. The address used for registering Northside Music was Ifeoma’s family home.
Peter approached Paul about this discovery, but Paul denied any knowledge of the company. Consequently, Peter engaged his lawyers to file a petition regarding the matter, specifically instructing them to exclude Paul’s name from the petition.
Peter challenged Paul, or anyone else, to produce any petition he had submitted against his twin brother or that mentioned Paul’s name.
He clarified that the petition was filed against “the suspects, Jude Okoye and his wife Ifeoma Okoye” due to their involvement in diverting “millions of dollars and hundreds of millions of Naira” from Northside Entertainment to Northside Music.
Peter further explained that during the EFCC investigation, Jude admitted to diverting funds to the secret company, Northside Music, and that Jude had also implicated Paul’s name during questioning, which led to Paul’s EFCC invitation.
Peter reiterated that he never filed a petition against Paul and had only sought action against Jude and Ifeoma Okoye.
