Peter Okoye Responds to Twin Brother Paul’s Songwriting Claims: Accuses Him of Disrespect and Manipulation

Nigerian singer Peter Okoye has responded to his twin brother Paul Okoye’s claims about being the primary songwriter for the songs performed by their duo, PSquare.

In an open letter shared on social media this morning, Peter criticized Paul for repeatedly asserting in interviews that he wrote most of the duo’s songs.

Peter contended that Paul’s statements are inaccurate and unfair. He noted that while he consistently referred to their work using inclusive terms like “we” and “us,” Paul has claimed sole credit for the songs, even in Peter’s presence.

Peter accused Paul of showing disrespect towards his work, his wife, and his family, and of collaborating with their elder brother and former manager, Jude, to undermine him.

In his letter, Peter expressed frustration, questioning the benefit of Paul’s ongoing disrespect and belittlement. He emphasized that Paul’s actions seemed aimed at turning their fans against him, but Peter believes the fans’ admiration stems from the duo’s combined talents rather than their individual skills.

Additionally, Peter mentioned that by the end of the day, he would address reports suggesting that he has involved Paul and Jude in legal matters with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
