Two Notorious ‘One Chance’ Robbers Arrested in Nasarawa State

The Nasarawa State Police Command has apprehended two notorious “One Chance” armed robbers and recovered their operational vehicle in Karu Local Government Area.

DSP Ramhan Nansel, the command’s spokesperson, revealed in a press statement on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, that the suspects were involved in robbing a female passenger. The robbers, after taking her valuables, threw her out of the moving vehicle.

The incident occurred on August 13, 2024, around 8:30 PM. According to the statement, the suspects, driving a Toyota Corolla (1994 model), picked up their victim, stole her valuables, and then ejected her from the vehicle.

The statement read: “On 13/8/2024 at about 2030hrs, information was received that suspected armed robbers riding in a Toyota Corolla 1994 model with Reg. No. Benue MKD 77 TF picked up an unsuspecting passenger from New Nyanya en route to Area 1, Abuja, but robbed the passenger of her handbag, iPhone, and other valuables and threw their victim out of the moving vehicle.”

Following this report, police operatives from New Karu Area Command, in collaboration with concerned citizens, pursued and intercepted the criminals. The swift and coordinated action led to the arrest of the suspects, identified as John Iorfa, and James Agbo, both from Makurdi, Benue State.

The statement added: “Upon receipt of the information, Police operatives attached to New Karu Area command, in collaboration with public-spirited individuals, gave the criminals a hot chase and intercepted their vehicle.

“The suspects, identified as John Iorfa, 29, and James Agbo, 37, both from Makurdi, Benue State, were arrested on the spot.”

The stolen items were recovered during the operation. Nansel noted that the suspects have provided useful information, and efforts are ongoing to apprehend other members of their syndicate.
