Taxi Driver’s Heroic Act Prevents Suicide on Mumbai Bridge

On Friday, August 16, a taxi driver displayed remarkable reflexes, preventing a 56-year-old woman from jumping off the Atal Setu Bridge, also known as the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link in Mumbai, India. The dramatic incident was captured by the bridge’s security cameras.

The woman, identified by police as Reema Mukesh Patel from Mulund, was seen perilously perched on the edge of the bridge’s security barrier. In the footage, Patel is observed throwing an unidentified object into the sea, signaling her intent to end her life.

Moments later, she leaps from the edge, but the quick-thinking taxi driver, whose identity has not been released, rushes to her aid. He manages to grab her by the hair, preventing her from falling. The swift response of the traffic police in the area further ensured her safety as they assisted in pulling Patel back over the barrier.
