A tragic accident in Calabar, the capital of Cross River State, has claimed the lives of two promising young women and left two young men critically injured.
The incident occurred at Mobil by MCC Junction in the Calabar Municipality LGA in the early hours of Monday, August 19, 2024.
According to CrossRiverWatch, the two deceased victims have been identified as Wofai and Bella. They were among four individuals traveling in a white GLK 350-4Matic Benz.
The two young men who were also in the vehicle have not yet been identified. The victims were reportedly returning from a friend’s birthday party held on the night of Sunday, August 18.
The cause of the accident remains undetermined at the time of this report. Video footage from the scene depicts the victims in a state of distress and lying in a pool of blood, while the vehicle is shown to be severely damaged.
