Nigerian singer Mr. Eazi has refuted rumors claiming that Afrobeats artist Tekno collapsed while performing on stage in South Africa.
The rumors stemmed from a video circulating on social media that showed a man, purported to be Tekno, being assisted by security personnel on stage. This video quickly caused a frenzy online.
In response, Mr. Eazi took to X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday evening, stating, “Lmao Tekno wey dey Malabo,” to clarify that Tekno was not in South Africa but rather in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea.
Further addressing the situation, Tekno himself took to Instagram to set the record straight. He assured his fans that he is “hale and hearty” and not in South Africa.
He also expressed concern for the individual in the video, saying, “I hope whoever that was in the video is doing well and ok. Thank you guys. Love you.”
