Shiloh Jolie-Pitt, the daughter of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, has officially changed her name to Shiloh Nouvel Jolie.
The 18-year-old filed the paperwork to drop her father’s surname on her birthday in May and received legal approval on Monday, August 19.
The reason behind Shiloh’s decision to remove “Pitt” from her name remains private. To comply with California law, a legal notice was published in the Los Angeles Times for several weeks prior to the court hearing.
Shiloh’s name change comes amidst the ongoing divorce proceedings between her parents, which began in 2016. Despite being declared legally single in 2019, the divorce remains unresolved. The former couple has been involved in legal disputes concerning child custody and financial matters, including their shared business interests.
In addition to Shiloh, Jolie and Pitt share five other children: Maddox, Pax, Zahara, and twins Knox and Vivienne.
