A nephew has been arrested and charged with murder after brutally beating his aunt to death with a broom during a heated argument.
Alexander Fleming, 29, and his aunt Juanita Dallas were involved in a dispute at Dallas’ home on 164th Street near 108th Street in Jamaica, New York, around 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 20. The argument escalated when Fleming struck his aunt in the head with the broom, causing severe injuries.
Dallas was immediately transported to North Shore University Hospital, where she tragically succumbed to her injuries.
Fleming was taken into custody later that evening and faces charges of murder, depraved indifference, assault with intent to cause physical injury with a weapon, and criminal possession of a weapon.
Law enforcement sources revealed that he has a history of arrests, with 10 prior incidents recorded. However, specific details about the nature of those arrests were not immediately available.
