On Wednesday night, August 21, the Nigeria Immigration Service released a statement announcing a new upward revision in passport printing fees.
According to the statement, the price for a 32-page passport booklet with a 5-year validity, which was previously Thirty-five Thousand Naira (N35,000.00), has now been increased to Fifty Thousand Naira (N50,000.00).
Similarly, the cost for a 64-page passport booklet with a 10-year validity, previously Seventy Thousand Naira (N70,000.00), has been raised to One Hundred Thousand Naira (N100,000.00).
Following the announcement, Nigerians expressed their reactions to the increased passport fees on social media.
