The Bauchi State Police Command, in collaboration with a security agency, has apprehended a 54-year-old man, Jinta Sati Dan-Anacha, for possessing a fabricated AK-47 rifle. The suspect was arrested during a stop-and-search operation along the Jos-Bauchi road on August 19, 2024.
SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, the command’s spokesperson, revealed the arrest in a statement on Friday, August 23, 2024. According to Wakil, the suspect was found to be carrying the rifle concealed in a bag. Investigations indicate that Dan-Anacha intended to deliver the weapon to an individual in Gombe State.


The suspect, who claimed to have worked with the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) missionary in Jos for 32 years, is currently being investigated to uncover further details about his motives and any potential connections.
CP Auwal Musa Muhammad, the Bauchi State Commissioner of Police, has reiterated the command’s commitment to eliminating criminal activities and ensuring the safety of vulnerable communities. He also pledged to vigorously pursue those who threaten the peace and stability of the state.
