The Akwa Ibom State Police Command is mourning the loss of its Commissioner, Waheed Ayilara. The seasoned police officer passed away in the early hours of Thursday, August 29, 2024, at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), Ikeja.
According to reports, Ayilara had undergone prostate cancer surgery on Wednesday and succumbed to his illness shortly after. A family member, speaking anonymously, expressed profound grief over the loss.
“We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our beloved friend, brother, and family member, Commissioner Waheed Ayilara,” the source said. “His loss is a great shock to us all.”
