A family was attacked by bandits late on Thursday night, August 29, in the Ushafa Community of the Bwari Area Council, Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
A man was fatally shot during the incident, and his wife and children were kidnapped.
A police source confirmed the attack to Daily Trust but did not provide further details. Ushafa is one of the communities that have been affected by the ongoing widespread insecurity in Nigeria.
The incident follows a report by SBM Intelligence, which revealed that Nigerians paid a staggering N1.048 billion in ransom to kidnappers between July 2023 and June 2024.
