A member of the Rwandan Paralympic women’s sitting volleyball team has gone missing in the French capital.
The athlete, whose identity has not been disclosed, was last seen leaving her accommodation to visit a restaurant with a group of people on August 20.
Following her disappearance, a police investigation was launched. The Rwandan ambassador has since visited the location where the athlete was last seen.
Despite missing one of their squad members, Rwanda’s women’s sitting volleyball team competed in their opening match at the Paris 2024 Paralympics on Thursday, August 29. They suffered a 3-0 defeat to Brazil.
