Kano Fire Service Rescues Family from Collapsed Building

The Kano State Fire Service on Friday, August 30, rescued a woman and her two children from a collapsed building in the Makwarari area of Kano Municipal Local Government Area.

According to the organization’s Public Relations Officer, Saminu Abdullahi, the building was a one-story dwelling house measuring 30 feet by 40 feet.

Abdullahi said the fire service received an emergency call around 9:30 a.m. on Friday from staff member Ibrahim Isah reporting the building collapse. Firefighters were immediately dispatched to the scene.

The victims were rescued alive and transported to Murtala Muhammed Specialist Hospital in Kano for treatment. The victims were identified as Balaraba Abba (mother), 35, Abdulnasir Jilani, 12, and Abdullahi Jilani, 9.

The cause of the incident is currently under investigation.
