The Lagos State Police Command has apprehended two men accused of robbing three commercial sex workers.
According to SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the command, the victims reported the crime to the police at approximately 2:20 a.m. on Wednesday.
They stated that they were targeted by the suspects at an undisclosed location. The robbery occurred on August 23, around 4:30 a.m.
The victims described how they were picked up by the suspects at Adeniran Ogunsanya Street, Bode Thomas, Surulere. They were then taken to a location where the suspects, who had initially posed as lodgers, suddenly demanded their valuables.
The suspects forcibly took two iPhones valued at ₦1.05 million, a REDMI Note 12 worth ₦140,000, and an iPhone SR valued at ₦240,000. Additionally, they coerced the victims into transferring ₦25,000 and ₦8,000 to an Opay account.
During the investigation, the suspects admitted to the crime. The police recovered their operational vehicle, a Toyota Camry with registration number APP335 JA, along with two blank number plates used in their operations.
One of the stolen phones, the REDMI Note 12, was also recovered from the suspects as the investigation continues.
