The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Oyo State Command has apprehended 10 suspects involved in various criminal activities, including rape, illegal abortion, and financial fraud.
On Friday, August 30, 2024, at a briefing held at the Agodi headquarters, the state commandant, Augustine Padonu, provided details about the arrests. One notable case involved Aminu Victor, a 19-year-old from Adamawa State, who is accused of raping his boss’s 9-year-old daughter.

In another case, three suspects—Qayum Babatunde, 18, Azim Gbadamosi, 19, and Mutiu Olaniyi, 43, all from Ibadan’s Oranyan area—were arrested for the gang rape of a 16-year-old girl.
Additionally, a 23-year-old unlicensed nurse named Moshood Oyindamola, also from Ibadan’s Oranyan area, was arrested for performing an illegal abortion on the victim.
The Command’s Tracking Unit also made several arrests related to financial fraud. Bakare Jide Damilare, 42, from Idowa, Odogbodu LGA, Ogun State, residing in Imota, Ikorodu, was arrested for conspiracy and for obtaining 17 million Naira by false pretenses. Damilare and his accomplice are accused of using multiple bank accounts to defraud Sarumi Hakeem through a scheme involving the purchase of a 2016 Toyota Highlander Jeep.

Another individual, Alabi Victor, 25, from Ile Ogbo, Osun State, allegedly defrauded someone using his father’s bank account. Additionally, three suspects—Abiodun Oluwafemi, Akinloye Sakirat Folasade, and Victoria Akanbi—were arrested for defrauding a store owner of 738,670 Naira.
Victoria Akanbi, who worked as a POS attendant, reportedly transferred the fraudulently obtained funds to her accomplices between October 2023 and August 2024.

Commandant Augustine Padonu assured the public that all suspects will be arraigned in court following the completion of investigations. He urged the residents of Oyo State to report any suspicious activities to the NSCDC or other security agencies.
