The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has stated that he has no regrets about joining the Tinubu government.
He expressed his sentiments with a blunt remark, suggesting that anyone upset by his decision should “go and hug a transformer.”
Wike, a member of the PDP, notably worked against his own party during the 2023 presidential election. After the elections, he accepted a role in the APC-led government, a move that was met with disapproval from his party members.
Speaking at the PDP congress in Rivers State on August 31, 2024, Wike addressed the controversy: “We are fully in government. We are fully in Tinubu’s government.
“I have no regrets about it and I will continue to be there. Anybody who is angry should go and hug themselves in the transformer.”
