Kidnappers Abduct Landlord and Kill Young Man After Ransom Paid in Nasarawa State

In Nasarawa State, suspected kidnappers have abducted a landlord and killed a young man.

The young man, identified as Anas Zubairu, was murdered by his abductors after they had received a ransom from his family.

Anas was taken from the Project Quarters area of Lafia metropolis on Friday, August 23, 2024. His friend, Abdullahi Musa Aboki, confirmed the tragic news in a Facebook post on Sunday, September 1, 2024.

Aboki’s heartfelt message read: “In loving memory of my dear friend Anas, whose life was brutally taken by kidnappers despite our collective efforts to save him. The ransom was paid, but their hearts were stone-cold. Your senseless m8rder has left us with unbearable pain and a deep sense of injustice. Your bright smile, kind heart, and infectious laughter were extinguished too soon. May your soul find peace, and may those responsible face the full weight of justice. Your memory will never fade, and your legacy will live on in our hearts. Rest in peace, dear Anas.”

In a separate incident, a landlord was kidnapped from Kurape Road, Anguwar Kokosa, Karshi Bypass, a town near Abuja, on Thursday night, August 29, 2024, between 10 and 11 PM, during a heavy rainstorm.

The abductors, armed with dangerous weapons, gained entry to the victim’s property by drilling through the fence and breaking the window of the master bedroom. Neighbors reported that the victim was unable to hear the intrusion due to the noise of his generator.

It was also discovered that the victim’s dog had been poisoned the previous day with a piece of meat thrown over the fence.

The kidnappers utilized the dense, tall crops on nearby vacant plots to carry out their plan and have since contacted the family with a reportedly very high ransom demand.
