Gunmen have killed Mr. Samson Omoarebokhae, a Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, Blessing Agbebaku.
Omoarebokhae was killed on August 31, 2024, by suspected gunmen while traveling from Ozalla community to Uhomora community in Owan West Local Government Area.
Mrs. Ivy Adodo-Ebojele, the Special Adviser to the Speaker on Media, shared this information in the Speaker’s condolence message to Omoarebokhae’s family.
She said that upon hearing the news, they sent a delegation led by his Chief of Staff, Mr. Odion Iruobe, to visit the family.
“The speaker described his death as a great loss to the Assembly, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Owan West Local Government Area in general,” the message read.
“He commiserated with the family of the slain SSA and urged them to draw strength from God’s promises of not leaving those in mourning comfortless
“The Speaker assured that he would do everything within his powers to ensure the killers are arrested and made to face the wrath of the law
“He stated that, though it’s a painful situation, he prayed God in His infinite power to give the family a reason to smile again
“He prayed to God to repose the soul of the deceased and give the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.”
Mr. Elijah Omoarebokhai, the brother of the deceased, thanked the Speaker for sending a delegation to offer condolences.
