LaLiga managers are reportedly threatening to go on a collective strike for the first time in Spanish football history.
Marca says this proposal is a protest against how coaches are treated after being fired.
Coaches like Ernesto Valverde, Quique Setien, Ronald Koeman, and Xavi Hernandez have all had their tenures publicly ended recently.
Managers are unhappy about not being paid what they are owed after being dismissed.
The potential strike plan was discussed at Tuesday’s annual managers’ meeting in Las Rozas.
Another meeting with the National Committee is set for Wednesday. At this meeting, managers will explain to the league that they will strike if the issue is not resolved.
The cases of Quique Setien, who was fired from Villarreal a year ago, and Alvaro Cervera, who was fired by Real Oviedo at the same time, are major triggers for this action.
Setien’s case was particularly high-profile because it involved Barcelona. He had to take legal action to get Barcelona to pay him. Xavi, a Barcelona legend, decided to forgo the money owed to him when he was let go earlier this year.
