According to reports circulating on social media, a man named Adeleye Ayomide, a 200L student of Philosophy at Olabisi Onabanjo University, is allegedly responsible for the murder of Christiannah Idowu.

The incident began on August 19, 2024, when Christiannah’s parents were contacted by her abductors using her WhatsApp account. The abductors demanded a ransom of N1,500,000. After receiving N350,000, they stopped communicating.
On August 22, an amount was sent to Christiannah’s GTB account and then withdrawn into Adeleye’s Wema Bank account. Intelligence operatives began investigating the account on August 26.

By August 29, they confirmed that the BVN linked to the masked Betting account belonged to Adeleye. They also found that he had withdrawn N100,000 from the account before it was locked.
Further investigation revealed that Adeleye had a mutual relationship with Christiannah, as seen on their Instagram pages. The same account number used to launder money from Christiannah’s account had been posted on Twitter to “beg for a giveaway.”

Operatives tracked Adeleye’s cell phone activities and found his location at his parents’ house in Ikorodu. They arrested him with the help of the Nigerian army.
During the arrest, damning evidence was found, including Christiannah’s blue ITEL A56 phone and details of the money transfers. They also found interactions between Adeleye’s personal email and the email address used by the abductors.

He was taken into custody for further investigation. On August 3, according to reports, he confessed to Christiannah’s father and the soldiers that he killed her and buried her in their house.
There are also reports, yet to be confirmed, that Adeleye killed his ex-girlfriend in 2018 and his biological sister in 2020.
