The Bayelsa State Police Command has arrested a man in connection with a nude video of a young girl that is being shared on social media.
ASP Musa Mohammed, the Public Relations Officer, said the suspect, Godgift Bai, 24, from Ogbolomabiri in Nembe Local Government Area, was caught in Yenagoa on September 3, 2024.
Mohammed explained that the arrest followed a detailed investigation by the Cyber Crime Unit, which acted on orders from the Commissioner of Police, Commissioner Alonyenu Francis Idu.
The police spokesperson said the command is committed to stopping cyberstalking and exploitation, especially of vulnerable people, and asked the public to avoid online exploitation.
