Violence Soars in Nigeria: Over 13,000 Killed and 9,000 Abducted Since President Tinubu’s Inauguration

Since President Bola Tinubu’s inauguration on May 29, 2023, violence in Nigeria has increased sharply. During this time, 13,346 people have been killed and 9,207 have been abducted.

This rise in violence affects 667 local government areas and is linked to terrorism, banditry, farmer-herder conflicts, and other social issues.

Beacon Consulting, a firm specializing in security risk management, recently released a Nigeria Security Report.

From May to December 2023, there were 5,802 deaths and 2,754 kidnappings.

The situation got worse in 2024. Between January and September, 7,544 people were killed and 6,453 were abducted.

Experts are worried about these ongoing security problems and are calling on President Tinubu to take stronger action.
