A devastating fire swept through the Sokoto State Police Command on Saturday morning, destroying several key offices within the one-story administration building.
The blaze, which ignited around 5:00 AM, gutted the offices of the Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of Administration, the Chief Imam, and the Chaplain.
According to the command’s spokesperson, ASP Ahmad Rufa’i, the fire caused significant damage to the administration section, including the confidential office and the Chief Superintendent’s office. Despite the extensive damage, Rufa’i assured the public that there were no casualties.
While foul play has been ruled out as the cause of the fire, which occurred in an unoccupied section of the building, authorities are conducting a thorough investigation to determine the exact circumstances and extent of the damage.
