Rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs has offered a $50 million bail package, including his Miami mansion, to secure his release while awaiting trial on charges of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking. However, prosecutors have vehemently opposed his request, arguing that he poses a flight risk and a threat to the community.
Diddy’s lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, filed a motion with the Southern District of New York court on Tuesday, September 17, proposing the substantial bail package. He stated that his client would be willing to put up his Miami home and his mother’s home as collateral. The bail is reportedly co-signed by Diddy’s mother, his sister, the mother of his oldest daughter, and his three sons.
Prosecutors, however, have filed a motion opposing bail, citing evidence of Combs’ alleged attempts to bribe security staff, threaten witnesses, and obstruct the government’s investigation. They argue that he remains a serious flight risk and a threat to the safety of the community.
Combs was arrested on Monday, September 16, and charged with sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, and transportation to engage in prostitution.
The 54-year-old music mogul is now facing significant legal challenges as prosecutors seek to keep him detained.
