Renowned American hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs was arrested on Monday, September 16, at the Park Hyatt Hotel in Midtown Manhattan.
He was charged with sex trafficking, forced labor, and racketeering conspiracy.
According to a federal indictment unsealed on Tuesday, Combs allegedly ran a criminal enterprise that engaged in a range of illicit activities, including forced prostitution, kidnapping, and arson.
The indictment alleges that Combs coerced and manipulated women into providing sexual services against their will, often using threats, physical violence, and financial control.
Prosecutors say he transported victims across state lines and internationally, and filmed them engaging in sexual acts without their knowledge.
One of the incidents cited in the indictment involves Combs assaulting his former girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, at a hotel in 2016. Surveillance footage captured the incident, and Combs allegedly attempted to bribe a hotel security guard to keep the matter quiet.
Combs’ attorney, Marc Agnifilo, has denied the charges and vowed to fight the allegations. However, the indictment details a pattern of abusive behavior, including instances of physical assault and intimidation.
If convicted, Combs faces significant prison time and fines. The case is expected to proceed through the legal system in the coming months.
