Edo State Declares Work-Free Day This Friday in Preparation for Governorship Election

The Edo State Government has declared this Friday, September 20, a work-free day to allow residents to prepare for the upcoming governorship election on Saturday, September 21.

In a statement released by the Secretary to the State Government, Joseph Eboigbe, the government assured the public that robust security measures have been implemented to guarantee a peaceful and fair electoral process.

Eboigbe said: “It’s hereby announced for the information of the general public that the Edo State Government has declared Friday, September 20, a work-free day. This is to enable workers and other electorates to travel to their voting areas ahead of the September 21 governorship election in the state.”

The government wished citizens safe travels and reaffirmed its commitment to a secure election environment.
