A Thai woman narrowly escaped a terrifying ordeal when a 16-foot python wrapped itself around her waist while she was doing dishes, squeezing her tightly for two hours.
Arom Arunroj, 64, was cleaning her kitchen just outside Bangkok on the night of September 17 when she suddenly felt a sharp pain in her thigh. Looking down, she was shocked to see the massive snake coiling around her.
“I was about to scoop some water, and when I sat down, it bit me immediately,” Arunroj recounted to Thailand’s Thairath newspaper. “When I looked, I saw the snake wrapping around me.”

The python continued to constrict around her waist, leaving her unable to stand. Desperate, she propped herself against the kitchen door and screamed for help.
About 90 minutes later, a neighbor heard her cries and quickly alerted the authorities. Chilling footage captured first responders arriving to find an exhausted and pale Arunroj sitting on the floor, the snake still coiled around her.

Police and animal control officers had to strike the snake on the head with a crowbar to compel it to release her. Although Arunroj received treatment for several bites, she was otherwise physically unharmed.
The python, however, managed to escape before it could be captured, according to police.
