ISWAP Militants Drown in Nigeria-Niger Border Crossing

At least 17 militants from the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) drowned while trying to cross a river between the Nigerian villages of Kafetoa and Bulabulin Geidam.

The insurgents were attempting to reach Tam village in Niger Republic.

Security analyst Zagazola Makama reported that the militants were swept away by strong currents during the crossing.

The incident occurred after they were displaced from their bases in Bulabulin Geidam, Chettimari, and Diffan, located along the Nigeria-Niger border.
