A 30-year-old man has been arrested in Bharuch, Gujarat, India, for the horrific rape of a 10-month-old girl. The incident occurred on Sunday, September 22nd, when the accused, Deepak Kumar Lalbabu Singh, lured the baby away from her home’s courtyard.
Singh sexually assaulted the infant while taking her to his own residence. The child’s mother, who works at a restaurant, was unaware of the abduction. Singh was known to the family and had visited their home frequently.
The baby’s grandmother heard her cries and discovered the child severely injured. Outraged locals apprehended Singh and turned him over to the police.
The child’s mother rushed to the scene and took her daughter to Bharuch Civil Hospital. The infant’s condition deteriorated due to the severity of her injuries.
The police have registered a case against Singh under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Legal proceedings are ongoing.
As part of the investigation, both the victim and the accused underwent medical examinations.
