Minister Initiates Immediate Investigation into Alleged Bribery Involving Bobrisky and NCoS

The Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has ordered a thorough investigation into allegations of bribery and corruption within the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS).

The directive comes in response to reports suggesting that crossdresser Idris Okuneye, known as Bobrisky, may have avoided serving his full sentence.

In a statement, the minister’s special adviser, Babatunde Alao, emphasized that any form of misconduct or corruption within the NCoS would not be tolerated. A special investigative team, headed by the ministry’s permanent secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, has been tasked with conducting a rigorous and impartial probe.

The investigation follows the release of an audio clip by activist Very Dark Man, in which Bobrisky purportedly claimed he was held in a private apartment near the correctional facility after his conviction on April 5, thanks to a call made by a godfather to the head of the Nigeria Prisons Service

Rapper Falz, whose name was also mentioned in the allegations, has demanded a public apology from Very Dark Man for making derogatory comments and spreading false information.
