House of Reps Summons EFCC Chairman, VeryDarkMan, Bobrisky, and Key Officials Amid Bribery Allegations

The House of Representatives has summoned the Chairman of the EFCC, the Comptroller General of the Nigerian Correctional Service, Bobrisky, VeryDarkMan, and all officers involved in Bobrisky’s prosecution.

In a letter dated September 27, 2024, the committee requested that EFCC Chairman Ola Olukoyode and Nigerian Correctional Service Comptroller General Haliru Nababa appear on Monday, September 30, along with all relevant officers.

Other invitees include ACG Ben Rabbi Freedman, the Controller of Corrections for Lagos Command at the time, Ja’afaru Ahmed, Secretary of the Board, and DCCs Sikiru Adekunle and Micheal Anugwa, responsible for maximum and medium security, respectively.

The allegations of bribery involve Bobrisky, who was sentenced earlier this year to six months in prison for naira abuse.

A trending audio conversation released by VeryDarkMan claims that Bobrisky paid N15 million to the EFCC to drop initial money laundering charges against him and that he spent time in a VIP facility rather than a standard prison.

This investigation follows the House of Representatives’ probe into alleged bribery involving the EFCC.
