Eto’o Banned from Cameroon Matches for Six Months

Samuel Eto’o, president of the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT), has been banned from attending national team matches for six months.

The ban was imposed by FIFA due to violations of disciplinary regulations during a FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup match.

The specific incidents leading to the ban were not disclosed, but Eto’o was found guilty of offensive behavior, violating fair play principles, and misconduct involving officials. The incident occurred during Cameroon’s last-16 match against Brazil, which Brazil won 3-1.

Eto’o’s ban applies to all Cameroon matches, regardless of gender or age category. However, it does not affect his role as FECAFOOT president.

This is not the first time Eto’o has faced disciplinary action. In July, he was fined $200,000 for a brand deal with an online gambling firm. He has also been involved in conflicts with the Cameroon sports ministry.

Eto’o, a legendary footballer, has a history of on-field incidents. In 2022, he was filmed attacking a man outside a stadium during the FIFA World Cup.
